Description
Cornell’s rolling steel fire door line protects openings in fire walls of commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. In case of fire, the door closes automatically to prevent flames from spreading from one area to another.
ERD10 or ERD11: what is the difference?
- ERD10 — FireGuard®: the standard rolling fire door. It blocks the spread of fire and carries certified fire ratings of up to 4 hours.
- ERD11 — with SmokeShield®: the same door, additionally equipped with the SmokeShield gasket system compliant with UL 1784 (“S” label). It also limits the migration of smoke and drafts — smoke stays compartmentalized with the fire instead of spreading through the building.
In short: if the building code only requires a fire-resistance rating, the ERD10 is enough; if the opening also requires smoke control (“S” label), the ERD11 is the one you need.
