Why choose Garaga doors?
We could have picked any manufacturer. We chose Garaga, and we have been installing their doors for decades, for three concrete reasons.
Built for our climate
A garage door spends winter outside at −30 °C and still has to open in the morning. Garaga doors are designed and built in Quebec, not adapted after the fact from a southern model.
Insulation that actually works
The Standard+ reaches an R-16 thermal rating thanks to a 1¾ in. steel-polyurethane-steel sandwich. On an attached or heated garage, you feel the difference in winter and you see it on the bill.
Parts we can actually get
A spring that breaks on a Tuesday night cannot wait three weeks. Working with an established Quebec manufacturer means parts on hand and after-sales support that answers.
Residential models
Each model comes in several designs, colours and window options. Click through for the full specifications.
Standard+
Garaga’s flagship residential door and our best seller. 1¾ in. galvanized steel, injected polyurethane, R-16, baked polyester finish, 9 colours. Widths from 8 to 18 ft.
Acadia 138
Refined looks at a competitive price. 1⅜ in. galvanized steel with injected polyurethane. Limited lifetime warranty on the door, and 10 years against seal failure on the windows.
Commercial and industrial models
A warehouse, a municipal garage or a loading dock does not have the same requirements: opening cycles, oversized dimensions, resistance to heavy use.
G-5000
Two-wall steel, polyurethane, 1¾ in., R-16, grooved panel design. Also available as G-5138 (R-12, 1⅜ in.) and G-5200 (R-18, 2 in.).
G-4400
The full-view door: 1¾ in. aluminium profile, non-insulated, to let the light in. Three finishes, including clear anodized with a silver G-5000 panel. Ideal for a showroom or dealership.
G-2023
Smooth-finish two-wall steel, polyurethane, 1¾ in., R-16. Flush panel, 2 or 4 grooves. The everyday choice for a heated commercial building.
G-1000
Two-wall aluminium, polyurethane, 1¾ in., R-16, available in 3 colours. Aluminium does not rust: a real advantage near water or in damp environments.
Not sure which model fits? That is normal, and it is our job. Tell us about your building and how it is used, and we will point you in the right direction. See also our commercial and industrial doors.
What a certified installer actually means
Anyone can buy a door. What matters is what happens afterwards.
A badly installed garage door still works, at first. The problems show up a year or two later: a door that binds, a spring that fails early, weatherstripping that lets air through. Almost always because of an approximate plumb, a miscalibrated spring or misaligned tracks at the start.
We take the measurements ourselves, we order the door to your actual opening, and our own technicians install it. That is also what lets us stand behind the manufacturer’s warranty: a door installed by the book stays covered.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Garaga garage door cost?
It depends on three things: the size of your opening, the model and its insulation level, and the work needed on site. A single door on a standard opening is nothing like a double door with windows on an opening that needs rebuilding. We do not publish prices because a number out of context means nothing. Ask for a quote: it is free, we take real measurements, and the price we give you is the price you pay.
What is the difference between R-12, R-16 and R-18?
That is the thermal insulation rating. The higher the number, the less heat escapes. For a detached, unheated garage, R-12 is plenty. For a garage attached to the house, heated, or with a living space above it, aim for R-16 or more: that is where it pays for itself.
Can I install the door myself?
Technically yes, but we do not recommend it, and not because we want to sell you installation. Garage door springs store enough energy to seriously injure someone who does not know how to handle them. On top of that, a do-it-yourself installation can void the manufacturer’s warranty.
How long does a garage door last?
A properly installed and maintained door lasts 15 to 30 years. What fails earlier are the moving parts: springs, rollers, cables. An annual service, which takes under an hour, considerably extends the life of the whole assembly.
Which areas do you serve?
Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the West Island, Greater Montreal and Laval. See the details on our areas served.
Do you also repair existing Garaga doors?
Yes, no matter who installed it originally. Springs, rollers, cables, damaged panels, adjustments. See our services and repairs.
